Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London (WC1 0DG)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + package

A leading main contractor delivering high-quality commercial, retail, hospitality, and fit-out projects across London and the Home Counties. The business is known for working with prestigious clients and delivering new build, structural refurbishment, and high-spec fit-out schemes, often within complex, live environments.
With a strong reputation for quality, collaboration, and problem-solving, they take an active role from early design stages through to project delivery.
The Role
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with 2-5 years' experience, ideally with a background in commercial and retail fit-out projects.
You will support the commercial team across the full project lifecycle, gaining exposure to high-profile schemes in Central London.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
- Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Assist with valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and contribute to financial reporting
- Work closely with site teams to ensure cost control and commercial efficiency
- Support contract administration under JCT forms
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
Requirements
- 2-5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Previous experience working on commercial / retail fit-out or refurbishment projects
- Degree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Good understanding of construction processes and contracts (JCT)
- Strong numerical, communication, and organisational skills
- Ambition to progress within a leading main contractor
