The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join an established construction division, delivering Design & Build (D&B) projects across the light industrial and commercial sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a delivery-focused Project Manager with a strong main contractor background and proven experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
The successful candidate will take ownership of project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of construction projects, from pre-construction and mobilisation through to practical completion and handover.
- Oversee Design & Build projects within light industrial, industrial and commercial fit-out environments.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site teams to ensure effective project delivery.
- Develop, manage and monitor project programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Manage procurement, materials, labour and subcontractor packages.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, variations and commercial performance.
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project risks, resolving issues and implementing solutions where required.
- Conduct regular site visits and monitor progress, quality and workmanship.
- Ensure projects are completed to specification and handed over within agreed timescales.
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager within a main contractor environment.
- Strong Design & Build (D&B) construction experience.
- Background delivering light industrial, industrial or commercial fit-out/refurbishment projects.
- Experience managing projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong understanding of construction programmes, procurement, subcontractor management and cost control.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities and work independently.
- Valid Black CSCS Manager Card - Essential.
- SMSTS qualification.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, commercially aware Project Manager who understands the demands of Design & Build construction and has experience delivering light industrial and commercial projects.
They will be confident managing subcontractors, coordinating project teams, maintaining programmes and taking full responsibility for successful project delivery.
