The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Retail Project Manager to oversee the delivery of retail construction and fit-out projects at a major shopping centre in Stratford, East London.
The successful candidate will have a strong construction background, with proven experience managing retail fit-outs, refurbishments and Design & Build projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
This is a hands-on project delivery role requiring strong commercial awareness, programme management, design coordination and the ability to manage contractors and multiple stakeholders within a live retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage retail construction, fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
- Coordinate design development, technical information, procurement and construction programmes.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Oversee project costs, variations, progress reporting, risk management and programme performance.
- Coordinate landlord requirements, tenant interfaces, site access and construction activities within a live shopping centre.
- Monitor quality, health and safety, compliance, snagging and defects through to practical completion.
- Liaise with clients, retailers, design teams, centre management and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed specifications, commercial objectives and opening deadlines.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within retail construction, commercial fit-out or refurbishment.
- Strong experience delivering Design & Build projects.
- A solid understanding of construction programmes, procurement, subcontractor management and commercial project delivery.
- Experience coordinating design teams and managing construction from pre-construction through to handover.
- Previous experience delivering retail units, store fit-outs or projects within shopping centres and live commercial environments.
- Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects against demanding deadlines.
