The Project

You'll be joining a Tier One contractor on a major 35MW data centre campus at Staples Corner.
The scheme is being delivered over three phases across three years, with an £80m build value and £100m MEP value, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to see a complex project through multiple stages.

The Role

As an Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring engineering accuracy, quality, and compliance across the project. You'll be responsible for setting out, QA, and technical control of works, either acting in a checking capacity or as the primary site engineer, depending on the package.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, detail, and working closely with site teams and the supply chain.

What You'll Be Doing

Engineering & Setting Out

  • Setting out works and maintaining dimensional control within specified tolerances

  • Establishing and regularly checking site control

  • Preparing sketches and engineering records

  • Interpreting drawings, specifications, and schedules, identifying errors or clashes and raising RFIs

  • Maintaining survey equipment and calibration records

Quality Assurance

  • Managing QA processes across your scope of works

  • Completing quality check sheets and inspection records

  • Producing and maintaining accurate as-built drawings and documentation

  • Reviewing and implementing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and RWA procedures

  • Raising and managing NCRs where required

  • Ensuring works are completed to the required standard and level of detail

Project & Site Support

  • Providing technical support to overcome site issues and respond to queries

  • Supporting temporary works coordination and providing information for designs and checks

  • Assisting subcontractors with installation and coordination

  • Maintaining accurate site records, including photos and progress notes

  • Contributing to KPI data and progress reporting

  • Working closely with site management to support programme delivery

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Working in line with project, client, quality, environmental, and health & safety requirements

  • Taking responsibility for your own safety and that of others on site

What We're Looking For

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience working as an Engineer on construction projects

  • Strong setting-out and QA background

  • Comfortable reading and coordinating drawings and specifications

  • Proficient in CAD and Microsoft Office

  • Methodical, organised, and detail-focused

  • Proactive, collaborative, and able to work under pressure

Why Apply?

  • Long-term, multi-phase data centre project

  • High-value, technically complex scheme

  • Strong delivery team and structured environment

  • Clear responsibility and ownership within the engineering function
