Job Summary

A Tier One Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead site operations on Phase 2 and Phase 3 of a major industrial and logistics development at Panattoni Braintree, following the successful delivery of Phase 1. These phases will comprise multiple new industrial units delivered as part of the wider masterplan.

The project forms part of Panattoni's high-quality, sustainability-led industrial portfolio and will deliver modern industrial and logistics accommodation built to exacting standards of quality, safety, and environmental performance.

The Construction Manager will take full responsibility for site delivery, ensuring compliance with HSE guidance, CDM regulations, and company SHEQ policies. Reporting to the Project Manager or Operations Manager/Director (depending on project size), you will manage all on-site activities, including subcontractors, logistics, quality control, health & safety, and programme delivery.

ey Responsibilities

• Lead all site operations to deliver the project safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.


• Implement, monitor, and enforce company SHEQ policies and procedures on site.


• Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations, HSE guidance, and approved method statements and risk assessments.


• Conduct and record site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.


• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring quality, safety, and programme compliance.


• Oversee plant, equipment, and materials, ensuring correct use, certification, and record keeping.


• Maintain accurate site records including attendance, inspections, progress reports, and H&S documentation.


• Ensure effective pedestrian and traffic management systems are in place and maintained.


• Build and maintain strong working relationships with consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.


• Mentor, manage, and develop site teams, promoting clear communication and high performance.


• Support tender, pre-construction planning, logistics strategies, and programme development as required.


• Ensure the site is well organised, safe, and presents a professional image at all times.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager delivering large-scale industrial or commercial projects (Tier One or major contractor background preferred).


• Strong working knowledge of HSE guidance, CDM regulations, and SHEQ systems.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction programmes (Asta Powerproject experience desirable).


• Proactive, solutions-focused, and highly organised with strong forward-planning capability.
